Choosing the perfect food for your wedding is an important and exciting part of the journey. We’ve stepped away from the traditional style of wedding catering which can be formal and restrictive and instead aim to bring abundant choice, with relaxed and yet refined menus.

Our food centers around using the best local produce, combining lots of different influences and contemporary flavours. We particularly love using natural cooking methods, the simplicity of barbecuing food, slow smoking over hardwoods, cooking over fire brings out the best in the ingredients we use and provides a unique twist.

Most menu options we offer allow you to choose several dishes for a feasting style of dining, served on rustic sharing platters. This style allows you the freedom to choose and put together a menu that best reflects your own personal tastes and bring your perfect meal to life.  As part of this we are happy to work with you to select and where appropriate adapt the dishes with individual twists so that you feel it is truly your own.

 

We have courses to suit any style of wedding, including everything from a creative canapes, late night snacks, barbecue feasts, full three course meals, morning after breakfast, and evening street food served from our quirky airstream trailer.

How we work with you:

Our professional family run team will work closely together with you thoughout the process from booking to being there on the day

Initially we offer a face to face meet up or skype / call to discuss your requirements, or this can be done via email if you prefer.

We then have tasting evenings at various points in the year and also wedding shows where you have the opportunity to come along, taste some of our food and meet the team.

Once you’ve booked with us we’ll be on hand to answer any questions, provide guidance and support wherever is needed and schedule additional meetings if there’s anything you want to run through.

Sshhhhhh, we have a confession… we have a night time alter ego, ‘Smokin Blues’ is our original street food company that some years back morphed into a fully fledged wedding catering business. This business came from a passion for cooking authentic slow cooked and barbecue foods using just smoke and fire, a theme that’s still evident throughout our new menus.

Luckily for our couples we still have our custom built airstream trailer to serve our evening street food from, guests can come up to the trailer and order from our menu that we help you select. You can see all the evening street food options in our ‘Menus’ section of this site, or else you can find our original website and all the BBQ inspired menus we still provide at www.smokinblues.co.uk, if you’re thinking BBQ is your thing and you want to fill your day with slow smoked meats, relaxed platters and hail your love of all things BBQ then head over and take a look! - both menus are made from scratch by us, same team, same beautiful produce, same service, just different vibes and flavours.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: As we make everything from scratch in house it also allows us to cater for any specific dietary requirements, adapting dishes where necessary.  We also have lots of vegetarian or vegan dishes on the menu which can be served separately where required and lots of our food can be adapted upon request.

 

OUR STAFF: When it comes to the day, the food is prepared on site by our professional team led by head chef Morgan, a fully trained Front of House manager will be on hand to oversee the service and our amazing waiting staff provide their friendly expertise.  We believe by having a tight knit dedicated team we can ensure the highest quality consistently at every single event we attend.

 

PRICING: Our prices are all noted in the full wedding menus.  Our prices aim to be as transparent and inclusive as possible.  Included in the price per head are:- full set up and all equipment, all crockery and cutlery, professional chefs & waiting staff, setting out and clearing away.  We include travel costs within 25 miles of York, (anything further is £2 per mile).

 

BOOKING WITH US: Once you’re ready we ask for a £500+vat deposit along with our signed terms and conditions to secure the date which is taken from your final invoice due 1 month before your wedding date, the same time we request your final details.  We’re on hand through the whole process to offer guidance, support and any information you need.
